The hanging Christmas tree
by Katrin
Last year I made a decoration for the terrace door of our living room, which is very simple, does not require any fancy accessories or craftsmanship,
accompanied and delighted us the whole Advent season and is still "grown" a bit.
These are sticks of different lengths, which are connected with a rope to form a Christmas tree. I used birch branches, sawed them to the right length
(the shortest is 10 cm, the longest - according to our window - 50 cm) and simply knotted them. Of course you can also try to drill holes in the ends
of the sticks, pass the rope through and knot it underneath.
Now the basic structure is already finished and the decoration can start. This year we are using simple wooden and red felt Christmas pendants. I also
have a LED light chain wrapped around the rope on both sides. Last year I had fixed some fir branches, red berries, orange slices and cones with wire
to our "window tree", together with a slightly longer chain of lights. Whenever we found something pretty in nature during a walk and it was suitable,
it found a new place here. Of course, paper or straw stars are also very well suited, handmade angels or, who likes it, glittering Christmas decorations.
When the Christmas season is over, you take off the decoration, put the "tree" into the Christmas box and can look forward to decorating it again next year.
