Smoking Men – German Christmas Decoration

One of the most romantic areas during the Christmas season is the Ore Mountains region of the Free State of Saxony. During Christmas time this region turns into a fairyland.

Smoking Men (in German: Räuchermänner) are incense smokers and a famous part of German Christmas decorations. I have a whole selection of these small wooden figurines, which are elaborately designed, crafted and painted by hand. They represent working people – craftsmen, such as foresters, peddlers, miners etc. But there are also Santas. Please have a look at my most favourite Smoking Man – the Nostalgic Santa. Isn’t he gorgeous? ;-)



Unfortunately, there are many cheap copies of poor quality, especially from the Far East. The genuine, high quality figurines should have this logo.
